I heard it's going to be at least 430, which means it will most likely be between 430 and 440.

Before the 350 came out Lexus kept saying "over 300" and it came in at 306.

Before the Tundra came out Toyota was saying "over 300HP" for the 5.7L engine and it turned out to be 381HP .

The IS350 was also changed with the new SAE test method, under the old method it was rated at ~320hp

does the IS-F have a real VSC/TRAC disable or do you have to do a pedal combo cheat code to get the wheels to spin over a certain speed, like on that dyno?

The engine is capable of far more, and over the next few years we should see some improvements, either from an updated D4-S system, VVTi-E or Valvematic added. There is also a possibility of electrically-assisted turbos.

IS-F has a 3 stage selectable VDIM program. Normal, Sport and Full Off. This eliminates the pedal dance. The pedal dance to defeat VSC/TRAC has been a 2006 model year trick only.

2007 models have been addressed with a VSC/TRAC defeat by holding down TRAC OFF for 3 seconds on certain models (GS and IS). It is also published in the 2007 owners manual for those cars respectively.

Take the speculation with a grain of salt.

Strictly rumour. The point is the 2GR-FSE in the IS350 has a lot of potential, and it's pure speculation as to how Toyota will improve/update it.

Toyota is currently doing R & D work on electrically assisted turbos in it's development labs.

Garrett was working on this in the late 90's. Nothing came of it.

Thanks for the info! I assumed it would have a "full off" function after seeing those teaser videos from laguna seca, but I had to check after the complaints with the 06 system that re-engages.

On a side note, I contacted my lexus dealer about the TOL coming to cincinnati in november, neither she nor the general manager knew what I was talking about. I had to direct them to the tasteoflexus website. How are you guys getting your invites?

He said what Lexus normally do is they'll test the first 50 cars that's coming out of the ASSEMBLY LINE (i.e. NOT hand-made), average the numbers and use that as the final figure for publication. He said some other manufactures just use their pre-production test cars for performance specs publication which might be inaccurate once the final production begins.

Is this true? I don't know. Does it make sense? Yes.
I can understand not testing a pre-production unit. Maybe Lexus engineers are still finalizing the tuning and working on emissions-related things. I agree with what the Lexus rep told you about revealing the specs in a month or two. I wonder when production of this car actually begins. I suspect production has to begin pretty soon (October at the latest?).

I don't think they will begin production without first revealing the final specs. I'm sure something will leak out before production begins. Doesn't production have to begin before November if the car is to be on dealer lots in January?

I definitely enjoy taking the videos of the IS F and i can't wait to purchase one also.
