Default IS F @ The Taste of Lexus, El Toro, CA

Attended the event today (8/5/07 primarily to see and drive two cars.....the LS600hl and to see the IS F.

Was really surprised to see six or seven LS600hl model on hand and to be able to drive them. Lexus really seemed to have their act together for this event. Unlike last year when any kid could just show up and thrash their fleet of cars, this year no invite.....no get it. Loved it. Almost all adults and they also had semi-gormet food and you needed an access card to get a dinner and to drive any of the cars you had to register on line using that card. Great.

The IS F engine was rated at 415 HP and will be available early next year at a cost of between 50/60 thousand. I took a few photos posted here and below....enjoy.

Is it just the reflection, or does it appear that the paddle shifters are chrome (not silver painted), and the speedo needle is blue

The speedo is blue but the paddles are more of a charcoal colour..

It sounds kind of funny to quibble over 5k when paying 50-60k dollar on a car before tax. IS-F would be in my consideration if it offered a DSG transmission instead of straight auto. I guess Lexus is gunning for Mercedes' customer instead of Audi and BMW.

I'm excited to see how well it will handle as well as other specs such as weight and torque...
