Someone please explain to me how an IS-based, 420+ horsepower sedan is "rice." Everyone wants more performance out of the IS350... Well, here it is. So now what do we complain about?
"It looks too much like a regular IS."
It is an IS. It's supposed to look like an IS. It was born from the same exact chassis and sheetmetal, only it has a V8 shoehorned in, along with suspension upgrades. For pete's sake, at least wait until you see it in person until you condemn it as 'rice.' I can guarantee you one thing - anyone who hears this car's exhaust tone will most definitely NOT be thinking of the word 'rice.' Some cars photograph well - this one doesn't, because the differences between it and the current IS are so subtle. I personally love that.
Okay, I'm off my soap box now...

C63 and RS4 both just had this way of looking mean, aggressive, serious and powerful while also being classy, intimidating and elegant. They really look like the $60-$70K premium road monsters that they were.
From what I have seen, the IS-F's styling cues just look a little less well rounded. Garish in some respects, fast in others, cheap in bits too. At the same time, this car is going to have a very serious engine and transmission combination and likely the reliability and quality that lured people away from German cars in the first place. People who want a 420+ hp premium performance sedan and Japanese quality will have one choice.
Many may disagree, but I still think that quality and reliability will play a part in purchase decisions, even with cars like these. If you can have a similar car with a far superior projected reliability than another, is that not going to be a plus?
