Sadly, my beloved 2011 ISF got totalled and I'm in the market for a replacement. Need your opinions on reliability of very low mileage ISF's, say a 2012 with only 20,000 miles. I understand that generally cars that are not driven for years can have issues with rotten or dried out seals, gaskets, hoses, bushings, etc. But is the issue really that severe that I should not consider buying one with such low mileage?
Thx
I’m sorry to hear about your car. I own a very low-mileage 2008 that has only 40,000 miles on it, and I haven’t had any issues. It’s a garage queen that I drive occasionally to keep everything fresh. Since my commute to work is 70 miles round trip, I get the opportunity to stretch its legs. The only repair I’ve performed on it was the water pump at 36,000 miles. Good luck with your search.
So sorry to hear about your F! I got my 2014 in 2020, with 16K plus miles. Not a single issue with it, no dried up seals, no bad bushings, etc. Car was perfect but of course I couldn't leave it alone. I've put an average of 1500 miles per year since I've owned it. As long as it is well maintained and stored properly when not driven, I'd prefer a low mileage one.
