IS C Extended warranty
Hi Guys,
I bought a realy clean and low mileage IS 350C 2013 with 14000 Miles two month ago and already put 2000 mile on it.
I took the car to the dealership taking care of open recalls and they offered me 4 yrs and 40k miles with S100 deductible extended warranty for $2400.
I know that Toyota and Lexus cars are low maintenance. but based on your experience with all electronic parts and convertible roof and luxury packages should I buy the extended warranty?
Thank you

I cannot remember. But you can check your car open recall via this link. https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/
Ryan,
I shouldn't worry about getting to 10,000 miles. My 20-year old GS300 has done nearly 200,000 miles and runs like a Rolls Royce.
I'm not too surprised that others have been charged $ 2,500. It costs a lot of money to equip and run a Lexus workshop and it doesn't help that the cars rarely go wrong. The issue of the circuit board has been well aired on previous posts. I have followed this through, not because my own car was needing but because I am an electronics engineer and am naturally curious. I spoke with Panasonic Industrial here in the UK and the offending part is a small microswitch with three terminals which can be soldered in by someone who knows their way with a soldering iron The Panasonic Part No.is ABJ39375 and as above, costs peanuts. The actuator may well be to Lexus specification but can easily be taken from the failed part.
Let's hope none of us here suffer this failure but if so, there is a neat way out without breaking the bank!

Also are they Off-MOM (off normally then ON when closed) or ON-MOM (ON normally and OFF when lever is activated)?
