Looking for a 250C - roof advice needed
Hi all,
I'm no newcomer to Lexus reliability and have the hots for an IS 250C, maybe a 2011.
My local dealer says check out for evidence of damp in the truck area. Has anyone had a problem with water ingress or roof operation?

Also no leaks to report. Have used it both in rainy BC and snowy Alberta and haven't opened the top since October, but it behaves as if it was a coupe. It's an all-season vehicle (provided you have the right tires) with Lexus bulletproof reliability.

After much searching, both soul and at the dealers, I have found one which I intend to buy.
It is a 2011 IS250C SE-L with just 13,000 miles in a metallic aubergine color - Lexus call it Alusian Grey but it is anything but a grey.
Drives nicely with a good history and one owner.
The price is GBP 17,000, equivelent to US$ 24,000 including 1-year Lexus warranty.
How does this price compare with a similar car in the US?
Also, any guidance and tips would be welcome.

Regarding your earlier question about leaks: I second and third everyone's comments but I will state that you do need to watch out for water collection on the lip of the rear window section of the top. You can see the area with the trunk/boot lid open. If you have had a heavy rain I would recommend taking a sponge or towel to the area before dropping the top.

Twleblanc, thanks for that and the advice. Rain is not unknown here in the UK and I guess it will not be until at least April until the roof comes down.
Anyway I've done the deal and pick it up on Monday.
Not planning to dress it up but I have a thing about chrome door handles so e-Bay here I come.
