Default What maintenance should be performed?

My recently purchased 2012 IS 350C with 46,500 miles has a good service history of routine maintenance. Oil changes, replaced air filters, brakes etc. There is no history of radiator flush, differential or transmission fluid change. At 13 years old and relatively low mileage is there a risk to changing fluids now? Is there maintenance, lubrication, etc. for the convertible top?

Go ahead. There usually isn’t a problem being early with fluid changes. Better than being late.

As for the top, I’d have to look in the manual, but I don’t recall much. White Lithium grease on the gears (after cleaning off any old, dirty grease). I use a flux brush to apply it.

Thanks for the response. Where would I find the gears to lubricate? Is there a diagram somewhere?

We have a 2012 350 ISC with 50K miles - other than regular oil changes etc, I only had the brake fluid changed every 4 to 5 years. Brake fluid is more of a time thing, since it attract s moisture over time.

Thanks, good to know. I forgot about looking for past brake fluid changes. So you think anti-freeze deteriates more with miles as opposed to time. I would test it but there is this metal tube that goes right over the radiator cap making it difficult to get the cap off.

With the trunk/boot lid open look on either side where the top mechanism resides. You should see the most accessible gears. To get the rest you will need to run the top up or down, stoping it mid-cycle.

Ensure the top has stopped moving before putting your hands/arms in harms way.
