I think the latest they would go is 2025, since around then is when some of the California laws on BEV and PHEV start to trickle in and can cause "problems" for manufacturers.

Agreed, plus the fact that the 4IS should debut for MY2025, they mostly won't keep the 3IS 500 if the 4IS is out!

I will be the first one to apologize. What was said is not meant as an insult to the law enforcement, but rather a comment on the car's bright and highly visible color. It would definitely catch anyone's eye and especially of law enforcement officer if one was to speed in it.
Also, congratulations on your IS500. That is great. I hope you enjoy it and cover many memorable miles with it. Just don't get caught speeding, especially if you got the Molten Pearl one 😉.

I definitely didn't mean that as an insult! I have the utmost respect for most people who go into law enforcement. I meant it along the lines of red being the most ticketed color until Molten Pearl came along lol

Thank you, Sorry I took it to heart so much. I left a lot of skin in the game so to say. Thank you again. I wanted the Molten Pearl as I was also entertaining the Vivid Orange Metallic Camaro SS , which is bad to the bone. Never saw the molten in person to commit because all the pics except these above had it looking like a creamsicle, so I did not commit. Have not driven it fast yet, as I am worried I will get ignorant and earn myself a traffic stop. Love my Atomic Silver. I jus thinking about a newer model in a couple of years and of course trying a different color as only Lexus can do.

Now THAT is a color I think would look absolutely AMAZING. As much as I am one of the few that loves Molten Pearl, a purple car has always been a desire of mine so if they announce one for 2024, I'll take the depreciation hit and get one for sure. Hopefully they spruce up the interior a little because I find it idiotic that the Molten Pearl got the same bland, black interior from the regular 500. The First Edition of the JDM market has orange stitching and orange accents on the wood, which would've suited the Molten Pearl Special Appearance Package so nicely, but we've already established that Lexus just flips a coin and does whatever the coin says.

EDIT: Does anybody with time and expertise want to photoshop that color onto an IS500 picture please

I would most definitely do a purple Lexus. I’m sure it would behave like the old midnight blue, where it changed hues depending on the light.
