I just love that Lexus seems to intentionally tune these cars (the IS/RC range) differently from the German competition. No stiff suspension or hyper-reactive inputs, just drives in linear response to driver inputs. And in the 500 in particular, that's nice. You can just cruise along with a V-8 sound in the background, never feeling a shift or bouncing over bumps, but then you can floor it, and it goes. But even then, the power delivery is smooth. Just, really pleasant to drive "normally", while being fast. Though, at the same time, it's no boat. It must have been a difficult balance to reach.
That's what I love about this car! It's the perfect daily! It's not a super stiff M3, it's not an ultra flat Cadillac chassis, it's a Lexus still. It isn't trying to be a track car and isn't advertised as one. It's a sporty car with some performance, it's literally in the name F Sport Performance LOL. It doesn't beat you up every day for the occasional hot freeway entry. They really made a great car to daily drive.

(Gentle reminder, no political discussion, though I also lament the diminished number of NA engines in cars)
Isn't it weird that politics has mixed into our car world? I've been on car forums for 20 years and politics never came up, but now we need the gentle reminders since politics is intertwined in everything it seems. I'm glad we steer clear of it, though, I like reading about CARS only Cars like this are my happy place, politics not so much lol
This guy's logic on the IS500 is messier than his hair. I always knew he was going to sell it but I wasn't expecting so many contradictions.
- He says at the beginning "its the most perfect performance sedan you could buy right now", but then he says "its not much like a sports sedan because its a little bit soft" and its not fun to drive because of the lack of steering feel.
- He says he got it ceramic coated because he thought he would keep it for a long time, but he admits he buys/sells cars frequently just to showcase them on his channel (which he barely did btw).
- He says "color is being transferred to the white seats," but then he says he doesn't wear jeans and he uses a seat cover...so how would he know?
- He says "it's not the most practical car" and "the rear seats aren't useable," but he's like 5 feet tall.
- He says it "has a beautiful quality in terms of manufacturing from Tahara Japan," except for the exhaust gasket (which he got) and front apron.
Yeah I watched it this morning and I just couldn't.
The only thing that made sense to me was it being RWD and wouldn't enjoy it much. Then i drifted off..
To be honest, when you flip cars like you flip underwear, i think you lose focus and appreciation for owning a car. It's like a person making 200 pizza a day, i am sure they lose interest in pizzas.
I have Always found him all over the place with his vehicles and after a few videos, i chose to move on and find some other channels
It's actually listed over its $73,550 MSRP ($56,460USD), but our used car prices are generally lower here compared to the US and we don't get the sunroof.
I keep saying that to you guys!! With the exchange rate, if you guys are willing to go through the paperwork, there could be good deals for you.
That being said, our msrp is 73k plus freight and taxes. I paid 85k on the road with everything in so 86k is not a good deal as whoever buys it here will still need to pay taxes on it, David is trying to recoup the cost he paid with taxes which i understand but if i was looking for one, i would wait for a 2023 and get it new but i am weird that way
I agree also with previous post, very click and bait as with Kirk K which is why i unsuscribed to his channel too

Mark ups are expected, but it seems the mark ups are much lower in Canada. So Canadians really are nicer!

True, I like Lexuses like I like underwear. A little soft and in dark colors to hide the dirt.
