My wife makes me name my cars, because she names hers, so my Atomic Silver IS500 is simply named "Atom”
My last car was a Mercedes and it was the race team’s “Silver Arrows” iridium silver, so it was SARA, Silver Arrows Racing Automobile.

Do you name your cars?

 

Yes, but only my "special cars". I call mine Last Samurai (or just Samurai for short)
I thought about making Star Wars obvious play "Darth V8er" being a black car, but I'm not that into Star Wars.

My, previous car I/we called it "Snow White" because well uh it was pearly white color

 

I used to, but now I think it's kind of silly so I don't anymore. I'm also 51, so maybe that's why?

 

You outgrew it, my wife didn’t.

 

I surprisingly haven't named the IS. My wife's car is forever "the bug slayer" because she has had an RX for almost 10 years and I've cleaned more bugs off Her car than all my cars combined.

 

My two cars are simply Lexi and Jeepy. When I owned Minis I was little more creative.

 

I think naming cars is awkward

 

I personally don't, but have no negative feelings towards people who do. I think it's good if it helps increase enjoyment/improve experience.

 

My cars have to earn their name. So far, the IS has not earned one.

My 05 GTO was named "War Goat." Like Sherman said, war is hell. The GTO went through hell and kept right on going. Most notably, a 100+mph tire wall encounter due to a brake failure, and it still drove back to the paddock after being pulled out of the tires.

 

Yep…BlueStreak or Blu for short.

1. Huge fan of John Henry & Paul Bunyan as a kid; and since the 500 pulls like a freight train (and is my trusted ‘steed’), Blu was perfect.

2. And a name was required because I wanted to create a social media presence for it. (Blu_IS500)

I have named cars in the past, but I just haven't landed on one for this car - and neither has my wife for hers, though she has also named her previous cars. I just say "the Lexus" when talking about my car lol.

 

Christine. All my hotrods have always been Christine. (I'm a Stephen King fan).

 

How about.."The 500?" There is no other 500 like this one. Including the Mustang GT500! And there's a "race track correlation
to this naming. What ya think??

 

My wife names her cars, I don’t. Her 2023 IS500 is “Baby Yoda” (also the license plate) and her 2024 LX600 is “the Grogu” (also the license plate).

She calls my 1989 Mercedes 560SEC coupe “The Hoopty” (because of the intro to this video ) and my 2007 E63 AMG “the AMG”. She doesn’t have any names for our G-wagon “The G”) or my 1994 E500 (“The 500”).
