I think there is a USB in the showroom there as we speak, so for those of you in the GTA, go snap it up.

Like I said,

Call Lexus on the Park and ask for Jack. He may be able to help you out. Let me know how it goes.

You can also try Erin Park Lexus if you haven’t already as that is a volume dealer. Erin park/Don Valley North/Lexus Richmondhill get the special edition allocations so high chance they will get an allocation for the ultimate edition if you are up for that.

Don Valley told me they're no longer taking new IS500 orders, and Erin park does not want to take my deposit unless I go in person lol haven't tried richmond hill yet.

Not surprised by Erin Park. They are difficult to deal with. Haven't had good experiences with them. I refuse to go there, even to change the battery in my fob. LOL.
In my experiences, Oakville is very good as is Don Valley, Lexus Downtown, on the Park.

The IS has been in production since the MY 2013 and it's due for a major overhaul as it received 2 MMC refresh (interior hasn't changed since - Not that I mind because I LOVE the interior) so it's due for a full refresh. We saw what they did with the ES and I suspect the IS will be next and I can't see how they would keep the V8 in the next generation IS but I would LOVE TO BE WRONG I could see an IS 500 coming with a 4 cylinder turbo and electric motors to enhance the output like they did with the RX 500.
Yeah, we'll see when those emission regulations actually roll in. Just like all oil and gas companies who have changed their names to be "Energy" companies, yet 99% of all their revenue comes from the sale of oil and gas. To quote an old colleague of mine, like it or not, the earth revolves based on the combustion of fossil fuels (not actual physics, LOL). The next industrial revolution will take a lot longer than everyone thinks. I'll stop there before moderator intervention kicks in. LOL.

Thank you! I plan to also put down a deposit with on the park for a regular IS500. But I do also want to consider what others have mentioned above, which is I might not be able to secure one from a particular dealership. Should I go ahead and place another deposit with a different dealership? I was told by oakville that they will have an ultimate edition available but also told me the deposit is non-refundable..

If Oakville is telling you that they will get an ultimate edition, then they will get it. From what I've heard, they are 2nd only to Don Valley in terms of volume so they get allocation. I think the most IS500's in the GTA have gone to Oakville since it's inception in 2022, and that's where I got mine as well. If you're set on the Ultimate edition, then I'd put your name on it at Oakville. You will not get the deposit back if you change your mind - they will keep it as credit for a future purchase of a Lexus product, which isn't all that bad if you have your sights set on another Lexus vehicle in the future. You can negotiate with them on the term of the credit.

Thank you very much. I just talked to a sales guy there and was told the same thing as Erin park, which is I have to be there in person or have someone there to sign the paperwork lol I guess I'll need to figure something else out then. Thanks though for the suggestion!

According to OMVIC (regulatory body for Motor Vehicle Dealers), there is no cooling-off period for vehicle purchases. So if they ask you for a deposit and let you sign a contract, there is no backing out (no refund as well depending on the terms and conditions of the contract you signed).

https://www.omvic.ca/news/blogs/no-c...-need-to-know/

And that could well be the reason as to why they want you to appear in person to put in the deposit and sign the contract.

I was also told the same when I signed the contract for my purchase.

thank you! Basically if I sign a contract when I put down the deposit that probably means they won’t refund it. If nothing gets signed I’ll get the money back if I no longer wants the car.
