Retaining AVS would be useless with firmer rates as the stock dampers aren't going to be capable of supporting the higher rates.
For street duty most of the stuff available is fine and with some adjustments you'd probably be pretty happy. Unfortunately no one really makes any high end setups for the IS chassis off of the shelf for true track/competition duty.
I'm not sure I understand your statement here. From my understanding AVS compatible coilovers means that you can adjust the stiffness of the coils based on drive modes and the primary and secondary dampening settings you set on the coils themselves. Not sure how the stock dampers play a part.
Apologies ahead of time if I misunderstood your point.
I'm in the process of bringing it back. They're the highest rated and best shop in town but thanks for the help. Maybe consider being less passive aggressive over the phone.
I truly apologize for coming across that way. That was not my intention. I know I took the time to hear your issue out in its entirety and explained that unplugging the AVS has no bearing on those lights. I may have been more blunt when you weren't convinced. If the shop screwed something up, they have to put the time in to figure out what. Having them call here to figure it out is not ideal because we don't have the car so it would be a waste of their time and yours. We know it has nothing to do with the AVS so the time needs to be spent under the car looking at things. Again very sorry, I wish I could help more.
