Hi there! Congratulations on your Fresh IS500. While you've done some spirited driving, it's generally good to follow the break-in recommendations in the manual to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Modern engines often undergo some level of pre-breaking at the factory, but following the manufacturer's guidelines can still be beneficial. If in doubt, consulting your dealer or a trusted mechanic for advice could be a good idea. Enjoy your new ride!

Finally I picked up my beautiful IS 500 in Ultra White, Odo read 8 Miles only. I already got like 70 Miles on it, the dealership itself is 35 miles away from where I live. I did note the Break-in period aspects mentioned here and maintaining it while I drive not to go more than 80+ and no more than 4K revs no sudden braking or constant speeds, hard to contain the V8 excitement when its brand new. I would like to ask a question regarding the brakes, they do make some sound while braking, Sales rep said that is normal for brand new car, is it expected and when should this go away ? Also a point to mention it has been pretty wet since the car arrived here and been raining so its all super humid weather.
Also regarding the AA80E I experienced a bit of slight jerk during very low speed 2->1 gear down it does happen often, I think this is Transmission getting all its gears up and getting ready I believe.

UltraCongrats!! I didn’t notice any breaking issues when I picked up mine. Then again, mine was driven from OKC to ATL, so everything could’ve been properly seated during the trip. (And mine has 25 miles on it.)
The transmission’s clunkiness is the ‘analog’ part of this car. It’ll calm down a bit over time, but it’ll remain noticeable . There should be a subject string on it.

Congrats!! Mine only had 6 miles on the ODO and yes the trans can be jerky when downshifting especially when not fully warmed up. My first few brakes felt uneven but quickly became the best brakes I've experienced in a long time... didn't notice any noise from them. Just keep an eye (ear) on them and I'm sure as they wear/settle, any noise they have will go away.
I will say I’m at 4,300 miles on mine now and the transmission has pleasantly smoothed itself out. I had the noticeable jerkiness in the 2 to 1 in the first 1,500 miles or so, but it’s truly all gone now and I haven’t noticed again since regardless of drive mode or conditions.

The one thing that's really never smoothed out for me is the 2-3 upshift when in manual mode at part-throttle. It's pretty darned jerky, but I always thought it was intentional. 3-4 is much smoother, however, which has me second-guessing this.

Same here. I'm at 5,500 kilometers so far. Quite rough downshifting in the early days and I was surprised. I was coming from a 21 350 awd that had a very smooth 6 speed trans, and my 3-series is also a very smooth shifting 8-speed trans. But it is much better now. Still get slight jerkiness, but much, much better than before. And as many on here have said - need to let the car warm up properly before trying to do any shenanigans.
Well if your car had over 8 miles it was probably red lined or near. My test drive on their car was spirited and went through all the modes and paddles and got into it a few times.
at 150 miles I gave mine the beans but not to redline. Couldn’t resist.
Don’t leave it in eco mode the whole time because it rarely gets over 2200rpm. I’m still in break in mode and I’m going to 3500 and around here and there . I’m breaking mine in to my liking.

what I’m noticing . Brand new and when slowing 2nd and 1st is noticeably clunky.
I’m at 1600km and I just got a tire pressure warning on my front right tire. When I check the psi is 29 vs the other 3 at 30. I’m thinking the sensor is faulty will get it checked out at the dealership , have my complementary service very soon. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue.

none of the sensors are faulty. It’s fall, it’s getting colder, your tire pressure is falling. Just get your tires leveled at 36PSI

29 PSI is pretty low. Why not top it up to the recommended cold pressure of 35?
