I usually leave the Lexus at home if I'm headed to the mountains, but if someone wants to setup a group drive I could be convinced to bring the slow car out. LOL.
Depends on where you are. The good roads are probably an hour and a half from midtown.
I'm so far north they're only about 30-45 minutes for me.
Yeah it is about 1 hr for me to get to the Chevron on Hwy 60 in Dahlonega. If I go straight to Richard B. Russell like I did yesterday, that's about 1.5 hrs...

LOL! That’s awesome. What is your mountain ride?!
It takes me an hour from Midtown ATL to get up to the Chevron. (Central meeting place for all mountain drives it seems.) 😎
I am in a similar situation in my little province - Only 2 IS 500 are in Atlantic Canada, mine and the other one is in NS. The dealer told me they have one on the way (2023) for NS but it is cool to have a car that is so rare. Ironically, there are 2 IS 300 in Atomic Silver (2021) in my town and to an untrained eyes, they may think mine is the same, especially that I have the same wheels as them, but I always tell them to check my bulge and my rear end.
Being the only one in Atlantic Canada, i may have to start driving by mirrored buildings and pretend to surprise myself...almost like my teenage years (lol)
Still do in my 66 and definitely will in my 500
3-4 weeks out getting impatient

We try to head out at 8am.
It's a bit overkill and doesn't get up there as often as it used to, but this is the car I take if I want to maintain some serious pace up there. Usually just take it up there on the 305/325 PS4S combo and save the good tires for actual timed events.

God I love Mustangs.
Have you gone up with the Mountain Drives GA group? The Stang is not overkill in the least with that bunch. I’ll hang with group #1 (fast group), but in the last position. I drive fast, but those boys are too quick for me to be in the middle! Can’t have Blu ran over by GT3’s, Z06’s, etc. 😜
I've been up there at the same time as them, but never with them. I'm more of a fan of a small nimble group than a massive squad of cars.
I can see that, both have their merits. The raucousness of a squad is a bit infectious. 😎 However…it’s easier to stay together in a smaller group, it’s a bit more relaxed, and dudes are less likely to be as risky.
Most of the time I’ll meet up with Alex and two or three other folks.

Totally agree, although I find our smaller groups move faster than the larger groups. Since I started autocrossing the car heavily though I haven't been up there in it nearly as often. Next time you go shoot me a message and I'll bring the Lexus out to give it a bit of a push.
Today I raced a M4 for a few blocks, get to a major intersection and see a Blue Vector poised to cross the intersection in the same direction we were headed. At that point I wasn’t interested in playing with the Beemer anymore. 😜
Made the left and a block later, the BV gets behind me. Flashed each other the ‘🤘🏽’ sign and pulled over at the next block.
I have had one spotting in the wild in the last couple months. My wife and I went to a favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in Hutto on the 22nd and there was about three rows ahead of me a Caviar/Black 500 with a fairly loud exhaust on it. I would have said Hi to them but some strange guy yelling at you in the dark would likely not have been the best. Doubt they saw my car as I didn't see his until I walked a few rows forward. Too many trucks/crossovers in between.
