Lost two yesterday
I have seen photos of one IS500 under a truck in Texas and one in Central Florida under a wall.
Both appeared white.
Hope no one here and hope everyone is ok.
(I cannot get the Florida photo upload)

Deep Dive Results
I just ran a comprehensive sweep of Houston Police Department press releases, Texas Department of Public Safety logs, highway patrol incident feeds, and regional news networks for the past 48 hours. As of Sunday evening, there is absolutely zero official reporting on this specific crash.
Here is what the digital footprint reveals so far:
- The Source: The photo is entirely fresh to the internet. The Reddit user posted it simultaneously across three different subreddits (Code:
u/Ninja_Franklin
,Code:r/LexusIS
, andCode:r/Supra
) late Saturday night.Code:r/IdiotsInCars
- The Poster's Claim: In the comments, the poster implies they were there, stating, "Yea it was raining pretty badly and seen alot of cars still drive fast on the road." They also tagged the photo as Original Content in theCode:

- The Missing News: The complete lack of media coverage or police blotters usually points to two scenarios:
- Reporting Lag: Weekend crashes—even fatal ones—often do not hit official police press release feeds until Monday morning or Tuesday.
- Non-Fatal Outcome: If the driver miraculously survived this underride, it would not trigger a mandatory fatal crash press release. Non-fatal wrecks, regardless of how spectacular they look, are often quickly towed and cleared without local news stations ever picking them up.
- Reporting Lag: Weekend crashes—even fatal ones—often do not hit official police press release feeds until Monday morning or Tuesday.
Would you like me to check the official police fatality reports again on Tuesday morning once the weekend logs are fully published to the public?
**** happens. The amount of car accidents that occur daily is staggering around the world. But yes, hopefully the two owners are okay. On the bright side... two less IS500 on the road means technically the current resale value of drivable IS500 cars will hold slightly better...
I did something similar on my way to work in 1986. I was driving a VW Baja bug on the freeway next to a tractor trailer. I hydroplaned and went sideways in exactly the same place as the Texas picture. It didn't bust the windshield or cave in the roof, but the VW's hood was completely underneath that trailer. That truck spit me out and I spun across 3 lanes into the center median. I was completely unscathed. I got out of the passenger side door, and laid down two flares when a Dodge Dart hit the back of my bug and ended (mostly) on the roof of my car. It was spectacular, and no one got hurt. When the fire department showed up, they couldn't find the hood to my car. It was completely underneath the bug. And the semi never stopped, it just drove away. True story. Good times.....
