^^ and that is the problem I was trying to indicate earlier - most salesperson are lazy and will never go to bat for you - not just in getting tracking info but also wen it comes to securing allocations and such. Glad it worked out for both but some may not be so lucky

salespeople have extremely minimal say in allocations. that’s more of a sales manager/GM pulling some strings sort of thing.Originally Posted by wthrman2

^^ I totally understand that but a salesperson should be representing you on his/her discussion with the sales manager and that sales manager should be then representing you to the district manager but few do and why it's important you find a GOOD dealership that are real car people or at least, truly care about their customers

there’s a significant amount of people waiting for allocations to be fulfilled. doesn’t make sense if the regional/corporate managers are being bombarded each and every time a consumer places a deposit for something they want. i get what you’re saying yes but it’s not just feasible especially when Lexus production numbers are lesser compared to the other companies.

the salesperson provided a vessel name. however when i tracked the vessel online, the dates did not match with the timeline that was provided to me last week.

That's pretty cool! I wasn't sure if they'd give you that info.Originally Posted by lexushouston

Are the dates later than they initially suggested? I think you said Sept 10th was the later range.

here’s what doesn’t make sense to me. sales person said that shipping of the vehicle was scheduled for 7/21. however upon tracking the vessel, it shows that it already departed Japan on 7/15. Originally Posted by LH1

the vessel was supposed to arrive at the port on 7/28 however it has been sitting off the coast of california ever since. which leads me to think that the port is currently backed up and they aren't taking in anymore vessels.

Is your car going through Port of Long Beach? I'm reading they're experiencing congestion so I think you are on point with your logic.Originally Posted by lexushouston

no, the destination shows for benecia. HOWEVER there is my 1 theory that it MAY go from benecia to long beach because that’s where lexus/toyota port processing center is located.Originally Posted by Hoovey689

Not accurate at all in my experience so far. Deposit paid May 16. Mid June was provided ETA of July 27 - Aug 2. By about July 20 ish ETA changed to July 31 - Aug 4. Then a few days ago was told ETA changed again to Aug 6 - 10.

Maybe I misread, but I thought there was a way to track a car via the Lexus App., though t didn't work for me when I tried it. I never really got anywhere with it to be honest. My salesman says that the tracking software they use is not for general public use, which I believe and understand. That said, has anyone ever gotten access to any Lexus tracking software, and did it work?

i really doubt that’s possible nor does it exist to the public.Originally Posted by skeener
