Yep, that looks about right. I recognize the wavy appearance. Its possible, but correct me if I'm wrong, the texture feels perfectly, fine no? If this is from wear... I shudder to think what actual use will do to it. Mine only has about 4k miles in just about a month shy of one year of ownership.

Very much babied overall. As you can probably tell, I am very gentle with my cars. At least ones I like .

Side note/anecdote - I've owned 3 3IS models now, and I think the steering wheel leather wears poorly. My 2016's steering wheel was getting pretty shiny after about 37,000 miles, in spite of my best efforts to keep it clean. The 2021 IS 350 I had before my IS 500 was already starting to get there after 17,000 miles. I have been trying to really stay on top of it with my IS 500, but I can't seem to get it back to feeling new-ish again. Maybe that's user error on my part.

Totally get it. I try to be as proactive as I can be with leather maintenance, but mostly I end up reactive like everyone else. Having said that, I've been using these products for leather maintenance for a long time, and they haven't let me down yet. The leather shampoo along with the brush should be enough to un-shine your steering wheel leather. Make sure you agitate it enough to get soapy bubbles everywhere. I recently used it towards that end on my wife's NX. Now the wheel looks brand new. Its only a year old with 13k miles, but it's had a very rough life sorry to say . Complete opposite of my IS. It gets daily treated like a work truck. Someone else's work truck.
