Is500 2025 MY
If you don't have to have it now, or if you have multiple colors you would be happy with, I would wait until September. If they announce there will be no 2025, you have three months to buy one new, plus whatever is leftover on the lot after New Years, if any. Plenty of time, you'll just be making lots of calls and have 50 tabs open for a minute. If they announce there *will* be a 2025, you have 15 months instead of 3. And if you're not squeamish about CPO, there will always be used ones.
So good news for those of you who were waiting until 2025 to get an IS500... Toyota has assigned the Emergency Response Guide on TIS to the 2025MY IS500. This is not visible to the average user, but with a little source code trickery you can pull it up. Likewise it has been assigned to the 2025 IS300 and IS350. In years prior, this gets assigned a couple of months before the vehicle's public announcement and before Owner Manual's become available. The downside to this is that the guide is a generic guide issued for every Toyota / Lexus product and thus does not go into specifics on powertrain. So while there will 100% be a 2025 IS500, I have no way of confirming at this point in time if it'll be with a 2UR-GSE. I feel confident in saying that powertrain options will likely be unchanged for 2025 but that is just speculation at this point.

IS 500 is included in the 2025 Long Term Storage Guidelines, Battery Inspection, etc. RC F and LC 500 are also included, so it looks like the 2UR-GSE lives to see another year.

To me, "V8 is a dying breed" is the most overused and inaccurate phrase in every Lexus IS500 review video. For one thing, it's Lexus. They are soooo slow to change that I don't think this V8 is going anywhere, like maybe ever. Second, people have been saying V8s are going to disappear since the 1990s. Yes its true look it up. 3rd, when my boy Trump gets back into office EV's are toast and V8s will make a comeback (for the 10th time)

Even MB is having 2nd thoughts due to the tepid response to the 4 popper C63... Deciphering Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG's Engine Plans

If there's $$$ to be had selling V8's, then that overrides everything else. Just like there is still boatloads of $$$ to be had producing and selling crude oil (despite all the resistance against it)
Thanks for the comments all. I actually have a test drive scheduled soon. My main concern would be that I would get "buyer's remorse" if a 2025 model came out with an updated powertrain or interior, but from the way some experienced members here have chimed with some great information it looks like that is not probable. Prices are not getting cheaper!
Great news to hear the 2UR-GSE will live on, not only IS 500 but RC F and LC 500 too.
Now I know this is really not going to happen, but I hope Lexus fixes the IS 500 bumper design to not let it cause sagging. Makes me thinking to swap for an RC F but that thing got a lot of downgrades for the price - No Lexus Memory, No Illuminated Entry, Engine Bracing removed, No TVD differential.
Also is it even legal to have the vehicle shipped with flaw, that is post-TSB, as in they should incorporate the TSB at the factory but in this case the TSB is a joke and kills the bumper for good permanently deforming it so they can't even apply the TSB at factory. So we come back circle again, can a car manufacturer still ship the vehicle with a design flaw after acknowledging it ??

Would love to know if the Special Appearance Package returns, what the color will be for 2025.
Hoping to join the 500 ranks in the coming months. USB 2.0 would be my preferred color.
My local dealer knows nothing

Forgive me if this was posted elsewhere, but this video discusses the next generation IS:
Next gen allegedly includes a V8 so you can bet it's coming back for 2025. Who knows how accurate all this stuff is but it's completely believable a hybrid IS is coming.

I really doubt the V8 will be in the next gen IS. It's too big of a hit to CAFE to continue the V8. Every Lexus/Toyota with a V6/V8 has had cylinder count downgrades with the redesign. The TTV6 looks too big of a powerplant to fit in an IS sized vehicle. We're looking at most turbo 4 hybrid as the most likely IS500 replacement.
I assumed the TTV6 would be next but who knows? I've never actually looked at the dimensions of the V35 engine.
