Default Navigation audio

i'm probably the only one that uses the built in navigation instead of android auto or carplay. My problem/question is this.

Is there a way to have the factory navigation mute audio from the radio/phone while announcing navigation audio? It seems to play the same volume as the radio, without lowering the volume of the media.

Does toggling the "voice prompt interrupt" button under the voice settings screen fix this? It's the closest thing I could find in the navigation manual. See page 76 below (item H):

thanks. I just gave it a try didn't seem to the feature i was looking for. Seems like a big miss that the navigation doesn't lower it's volume/mute for guidance voice prompts. I guess android auto will get the most usage for navigation instead.
