So let me preface this by saying maybe it’s in my head; some sort of placebo.
With the impending hurricane that’s about to hit us, I wanted to make sure that I topped off my car before parking it at the Airport parking garage until the storm passes. All the lines everywhere were ridiculously long and there’s a station on my daily route that was actually empty. The reason I attribute for it being empty is that the prices of the gas are about 30-40 cents more per gallon due to the gas being ethanol free. This is a Mobil branded station so it isn’t a random joe’s station. I pumped 4-5 gallons of it and the gas in my car prior to me pumping was from my go-to Chevron station. Ever since I pumped the ethanol free gas I feel like the car is peppier. I feel like it has more power and it delivers it quicker. This could all be in my head but I’m curious if some users have had similar experiences with ethanol free gasoline or if this is just me over analyzing it. I’d love to hear what everyone has to say.
Is it better to run ethanol free with an 89 rating or use E-10 with a 91 rating, knowing the car requires premium octane?
I have 89 ethanol free a mile from my house that I've considered running in my IS300 to see how it performs.
I would suggest you run 91 or higher. The owner's manual states 91 or higher is required, and it does not make any specific mention as to whether ethanol content has any bearing on octane.

Yeah, that's my thinking as well. In Pa, I can get 93 and that's all I've ever run. Wanted to get other's thoughts; thanks for the reply
