Please help! I’ll admit I’m a woman that knows nothing but trying to learn! I have a 2104 IS250, 79k miles. Take immaculate care of! Lately issues! First I had a aftermarket auto starter put in, & months later I’m noticing my headlights & dash lights go out & flicker! Lexus won’t touch it unless I remove the auto starter first. Could this be the problem?
Most recent issue about 2 was ago I felt a thump when I reverse from my front tires. It’s happened a few times. Scheduled to have it looked at. But just YESTERDAY I swear my steering is going! I can actually turn my wheel in a complete circle when turning. The steering wheel feels like it’s not attached to anything! I know sounds crazy. I won’t drive. Im just trying to get feed back to educate myself so I’m aware when mechanic looks at it. Thank you so much!

 

first off, it doesn't matter if you're a woman or not, you're someone who has an issue with your car (but i get the stereotype). who did the install on the auto starter? i can see some tie ins with lightning, but without a wiring diagram i can't confirm; not sure if auto start wires tie directly into lighting. maybe the ppl that installed your auto starter mucked something up when putting everything back together. if lexus won't look at it, i would first talk to the ppl that did the install and then find a reputable mechanic or shop or if PA has private shops owned by former lexus master techs. good luck!
