For those with the stock navi, I know the navigation map displays 3 views (true north, 2d top down view, and an angled birds eye or 3d view). I don't have the latest version of the map installed, nor do I care to have it installed, but was curious on when 3d buildings are supposed to display on the map, when fully zoomed in in the angled 3d view mode. I've seen other folks with their maps showing rough 3d (nothing fancy) rendering of buildings wherever they were driving.
I've driven around in around surrounding suburbs and downtown around where I live, but nothing shows up. It's just the roads that display in an angled view in 3d mode, but no buildings. Just wondering if it's because of the map version or only certain cities/locations would display 3d buildings.

It has to be a significant landmark to be rendered in 3D. For example, when I would pass by the Chiefs stadium in Kansas City, it would show up. I haven't noticed any 3D renderings showing up in my 2021 in my local suburban neighborhood. Most of the time I am on Android Auto anyway, but back in the day in my 2016 I do recall seeing those renderings, usually in downtown areas.
