USB without a doubt is superior. The grecian is nice too but in a way that would get old after a few days.

I'd definitely go USB as it's more refined, mature, and will be easier to live with (look at) daily.

All jokes aside... despite both being blue, USB and GW are polar opposites in my opinion and they are designed for two different people. I'd seen both shades in person and I agree with others that pictures don't do either justice. In person, GW felt very very light and at a distance the flake in the paint was imperceptible. USB on the other hand felt almost 3 dimensional. It really helps the curves of the car become apparent.
Looking good! Wheels are def smaller than it should have been! But then again, there is a nice sunroof and very spacious inside!

Reviving this post.
After some back and forth with my dealer and having him do a search, there are zero Grecian Blue IS350's in all of California. Hard to believe, but after personally searching dealer inventories up and down the state, I'm coming to the same conclusion. I'm at a loss as to why Lexus advertises a color, but does not produce it. It's simply not out there.
So this has me going back to Ultrasonic Blue. It is a wildly beautiful color, but I am very much on the fence with owning a car that stands out so much. I feel the color just screams, "look at me" and asks for attention and trouble from others. Last thing I want in my life is extra stress and hassles from the outside world!
Anyway, I did find a few used Grecian Water IS350's, but I really don't want to go pre-owned. Leasing new makes much more sense as a business write-off, plus the rates are better for new vs. used.
Lots to think about now, and trying to picture myself with USB and not regretting the choice after a few months.
Any added comments are welcomed.

That is unfortunate. It looks like Grecian Water is the rarest color for the IS. I think the only one I have seen was at the dealer, back when I was shopping for mine. It was an IS 300.

I like Ultrasonic Blue a lot. I think, much like my Infrared, it's a perfect balance. It pulls off being a bright, full color and also more mature-looking than bright, solid colors.

To me, GW would draw more attention because of the shade. USB is blue...and as others mentioned, other car makers are attempting to recreate that. So it's not as bold as it used to be.

I remember when we bought my wife her 2010 RX. At that time she was thinking about getting that Cerulean blue (or whatever it was called) and the dealer pretty much told us not to. Said it would be worth less in the long run because it's a "current fad" color and by the time we traded it in, no one would want it. I would imagine the same to be true now for GW. Just my 0.02.

I agree with @jtrue28 , there are several manufacturers around with a deep blue paint and the closest is ACURA’s Apex Blue. The design of the car (with an assist from the USB) will draw attention. If you’re concerned about that, the redesign may not be the best choice. I had the USB for my 2016 IS 350 and at that time, a deep blue wasn’t as common. Back then one could say the color was showy, but not nowadays. Lexus just does it better. Good luck!! #JoinTeamBlueCrew 😜

I confirm that the Lexus Grecian water color is the closest car color I have seen to the color of the Aegean Sea in Greece.

LOL! Gotta wonder what type of research Lexus does when naming their colors!

So, I spoke with a nice gentleman from Lexus National Headquarters about GW being available on the IS500. I was told this color is still in production for the IS 500, and that I should use the builder to send my information to a dealer, or I could tell him my desired options along with exterior and interior color. I provided this information and he forwarded it to some dealerships in my area, on my behalf. Shortly after that conversation I was contacted by the dealership I have been working with to find a IS500 in GW, and I was told this color combo was not being accepted as an order by Lexus. This was two weeks ago. I told Ivan, who is the guy from Lexus Headquarters to forward my info to my dealer, and he did just that. I let my dealer know info was coming his was about this GW IS500. Fast forward to yesterday. I get a text from my dealer stating the "order banks" were opening up this week and he would be able to order the car for me. My GW IS500 is supposed to arrive by June of this year. I passed on numerous IS500 in hopes of getting this specific color, so don't give up just yet.

Very interesting and timely story. Thank you for sharing! It is funny, because my plan tomorrow was to call Lexus headquarters and dig deeper as to why and what is going on with the color not being available. I've contacted headquarters before about other things, and always seemed to have had luck. Your situation with the IS500 really opens up a door! Maybe the same is possible with the IS350, or is about to be. I have a tough time believing they'd not make a color available for more than half the model year. Going to give it a shot tomorrow and see! Can you maybe provide me with the full name of the gentleman you spoke to at Lexus USA? I can always message you too if you prefer.
Thank you for your thread and information!

You should definitely contact Lexus about it. The reason I chose to do it is because I was in the same situation as you, and on the fence of choosing another color. I wanted to be 100% sure GW wasn’t going to be available either this year or next year. ( I was prepared to wait until next year). It would suck to buy a color you didn’t really want from the beginning , only for GW to be available a month later or so. The gents name is Ivan, and he works with Lexus Brand Engagement Center. Ivan did not provide his last name, sorry. Good luck and best wishes on your search.

After what Lexus did to the Launch Edition owners by offering their ‘exclusive’ color spec on the 350s, this is a very smart move. Shake every tree that needs to be shaken. 👍🏽

Sage advice. They can easily discontinue the color next year or only offer it on a different model. I don't want to take a chance.

So not to beat a dead horse, but a follow-up on my Grecian Water search. After Derrtybird shared his story about contacting Lexus headquarters and hearing about the books opening up on a Grecian Water IS500, I called to find out if this was also the case for IS350's. Asked for "Ivan," but no Ivan was found to be working there. They gave me a case number, saying someone would call me back the next day after looking further into my question. One week later, no call back. Called a second time last week, asked for Ivan again, gave them my case number, and suddenly they had lost all my info. Gave it all over again, stated the case above, and they said someone would call me back. One week later, no call back. Just called again now and inquired a third time, and was told they have no info or bearing on the sale end of things- to contact my dealer. I told them I've already done all that, and the dealer is telling me there are no Grecian Waters to be had. I asked about digging deeper as to why they are advertising a color on their website, but not making it available for the entire model year. Just got apologies and said they'd forward my comments.
So... back to square one. I am thinking of talking to my dealer again to see if perhaps he can dig deeper or look into the future, since corporate keeps pointing me back to them. Probably going to get the same answer. Kinda frustrated, but not giving up yet.
If this goes nowhere, may go back to USB.
To be continued...
