So I was playing around with my ecu and tunning software, and I was wondering if I do something stupid and mess up my ecu can I bring it to the dealership to get it reflashed?
had a base map but while ecu was flashing it reached an error and time out and stopped for there for almost an hour and now car wont start up or cant reflash i tried everything but no hope to avail
The dealer won't have available the software the ECU originally came with to flash it. Consider the question, why they would need to have this at the dealer.
If there was an update for the stock ECU software, i.e. to address an issue with the vehicle, they can install that, but that's based on the fact that ECU is functional enough to install it, and it likely still won't address your issue.
At the dealer level you are likely looking at an out-of-warranty ECU replacement.
Most reputable tuning shops should provide a base map/image for the ECU so that you can recover when things like this happen. Not to state the obvious, but I would recommend checking if flashing back to "stock" is an option with your software/device... which is what exactly?
I used d3 performance pro tuner/tune wizard i already tried going back to stock with their software but the car was unresponsive, i got in contact with them already and have sent my ecu out to them to see if they can get it fixed
Once you mess with ecu its pretty much done if you mess it up. From my dealership experience you just replace ecu never reflash especially for warranty purposes
