I haven’t drove around yet, only streamed music for a few seconds when it connected so not a valid test.

I’ll take a ride tomorrow, see if I’m experiencing the same thing.
If you contact Reyn can you ask him how to downgrade?

I also experienced the same quality issues - the volume seemed ok but the stream would sound like it was skipping, like playing a scratched CD. Happened every few seconds...sucks.

I just reached out to Reyn. In one of the 2 videos he provided, the one where he installs v3.9.44, he shows a list of older versions. I asked for an older version to try. The one before 3.9.44 is 3.9.32. Hopefully an earlier version improves the stream quality and fixes the connection bug. If not, then I'll ask for the original v3.8.2 if he has it

I've been in the market for one of these 10.25 in screens, but I'm holding out for a newer generation of the 4x4 screen since it seems like they have had the best customer service, but the Lexion screen is better in quality.
Anyways, I actually called 4x4 today and spoke with one of their sales reps, and I asked when the next screen for the Lexus IS is coming out with Android 11. The rep told me that they launched their new screen today, but he won't have information regarding if it runs Android 11 until tomorrow, so he said for me to call back.

I'm a little confused because I go to the 4x4 shop and I don't see any 4th generation screen, it still just shows the 3rd generation.

But I'll try calling again tomorrow to see what's up. I'm really hoping they are actually launching the new screen and if so there are some significant improvements to put in on par with the Lexion screen. If it is, I'll be purchasing right away and will update everyone on how it goes with the install.

I was going back and forth between the 4x4 and Lexion, mainly bc I read many times that the support from Lexion was subpar to say the least, but the wait time on startup from the current 4x4 unit was way too long for me, so I went Lexion.

As for my experience with support from Lexion, they have been fantastic. There was an issue with the jog wheel not always working, I reached out, they got back to me the next day (time difference between countries), and got me an updated fw version for the unit - never had the issue again. Now working on a wireless carplay connection issue that pops up from time to time, and again there has been an open line of communication with them on solutions.

Outside of this wireless carplay connection issue, which is currently being worked on, the unit and support from Lexion has been excellent. I am very happy with the purchase.

Hey guys, about a month ago I got my Lexion system installed in my 2014 Lexus IS and it's been great! One slight annoyance I have with the system is having to open the zlink app and click "Enable wireless CarPlay" and connect to the Bluetooth network, every time I want use wireless CarPlay. I saw in this thread you guys mentioning having to connect to the system's WiFi, which is something that I haven't had to do yet. Is there another way to have the system connect to my phone automatically?

There’s a setting I forgot which one there are two places one in Android setting and under CarPlay there should be an option to connect automatically, or Settings inside zlink app.

For Lexion (BinaryTek) support issues, I've had best success with e-mailing Reyn directly sale02@binarytek.cn

Thanks for your perspective. Your opinion is definitely making me lean toward Lexion.
I have a quick question.

So the biggest thing turning me off from 4x4 is the fact that I have to install the Mic/speaker to be able to make calls. I really don't like that since I make calls while driving from time to time and much rather be able to use my factory speaker/mic for phone calls. I think you can do this with Lexion correct? But you have to switch from AUX source to BT or something like that?
Could you walk me through what you have to do? Is it pretty simple and streamlined so when someone is calling you can you press the answer call button on your steering wheel?

Thanks!

I'm also talking to Reyn from Binarytek. He's telling me that he has a newer version of the Lexion unit with a qualcomm processor. All other specs are the same apparently.
I'm thinking I will try this one out.

He said its $799 as well, so $100 less then the normal Lexion unit. Hopefully all turns well with this.

So I found out that the new Lexion units with Qualcomm processors are now "all-in-one" units so the cpu, etc are attached to the back of the screen like the other units you can get from 4x4, ebay, etc.
Pretty disappointing as I thought that was one of the bigger perks of the Lexion unit.

I told Reyn I will cancel my order until i've heard more about the performance of the new unit.

Wondering if anyone on here as purchased and used the new lexion unit and if there is any feedback?

If they’re able to cool off with integrated screen design I don’t see why it should be an issue. I find external box very bulky and you need to open up glove box to mount etc… I prefer one screen design a lot easier to install.

I agree, but the "IF" is the question. Not sure if they were able to do that.
If everything works as the old Lexion unit, but its just a 1 screen design, i'm okay with that. But it seems like its possible they just started buying the same type of screen other companies are using and selling it as a Lexion unit? So my worry is that this new screen could be slower, buggy, etc.

I'm hoping to see if anyone else has already bought it and tried it out before I take the plunge.

I might be interested in buying it if you are trying to sell it.
