Hello all! I am excited to soon be joining the community of Lexus owners when I can order my first Lexus product early next year. I'm eyeing a 350FS or 500FSP. However, as a bigger guy I'm a little concerned with ingress/egress to/from the vehicle. I notice the Lexus Memory System is now an available feature in the IS lineup. Does anyone know if that feature includes Easy Entry/Exit where the steering wheel and seat automatically move?
Thanks in advance, and I look forward to the discussions herein!
^^ Welcome to the forum. As an owner of a 2021 IS 350, I can tell you the seat will pull backward to allow you ease of getting out.. I don't have the powered steering column so for me, that doesn't occur but I had a powered steering column on my 2019 RC and it did retract automatically.
If your car has the powered steering column, you will be fine...Ironically enough I am disactivating that feature as it drives me absolutely insane but I am tall and super skinny so getting in/out is not a problem but that whole moving thing annoys me to no end (lol)
I can tell you that you will LOVE your IS 350 (or 500), this is a solid car and you will not regret it!!
As wthrman2 said, if your car is equipped the steering and seat will retract.
On a side note, you'd better hurry because we're seeing big delays when ordering a 350 or even worse a 500... If you can even get your hands on one.
I go through my new hire orientation with Toyota Jan. 4-5. My hope is to get my order in before Jan. 15 to be part of that month's batch. I'm guessing it will be at least May before I see it.
That gives me four months to go down the rabbit hole on forums and figure out what all I'm going to do with it. 😂
Yes, the memory system has that built into it. You can also turn the feature off altogether and the seat stays stationary. The steering wheel raises and retracts no matter the setting even with easy entry/exit assist off.

are you sure? I thought I had in the manual that it is a configurable feature ...I.will need to look at that again...
Mmmhm there is full on half on and off. I’ll even recheck after dinner and post a pic of the menu. I have it off currently and the wheel always retracts
^^ That is for the seat, but I thought I recall seeing a menu configuration in the manual for the steering wheel too, they are done separately....I will try and locate teh page and edit my post here
Here is the customization available in the manual for the driving position memory no mention of steering wheel easy enter/exit memory in the customizable settings
^^ I am going crazy trying to find where I thought I saw we could disable the steering retraction too - If I find it, I will share it but curious if others here would know, or even if its a dealer configurable feature. Luckily for me, we don't have that feature in Canada or I seriously think I would pass on it....If that feature was on and not able to turn off, I would walk.
OK, it was in my 2019 RC that this feature was customize-able but why would it not be on the IS? BTW -> C was done by the dealer so maybe they can with the IS but the manual is not stating it, for those would want that feature turned off

everything customizable in the car starts on page 388 of the owner's manual and lists if it is one of 3 columns. Column A is settings that can be changed with remote touch, B is using the meter control aka the steering wheel buttons and screen next to the tachometer and C is settings that can be changed by Lexus dealer. The seat retracting all the way was way too much and I couldn't turn it off fast enough
I too, found the full retraction to be too much, like having to climb out of the car. Changing to ‘partial’ seemed about right, but I think that, on my 2014, it also turned off the steering wheel retraction at the same time.
It’s been a long time since I did that, so I’ll have to set it back to ‘full’ and see if the steering wheel movement also returns.
