Yep, that's the exact reason why I posted here first. Having said that, this is a car under warranty, and only 6 months old at that, so technically, I shouldn't have to spend a dime or waste any of my own time solving the issue.
There's always a chance they'll take the same route as my VW dealer did when I had a similar issue, and just replace the whole glove box.

Yes, I noticed rattles from the glove box starting in cold weather. And I believe it's a different source based on what he described, mine won't stop either the door open or closed. And I am pretty sure it's from inside the glove box or deeper behind it.
What I did was to felt-tape the shelf and the door in front of the cabin air filter. The remedy eliminates most of the noise but not 100%, I would say still a bit when going on rough roads. I haven't planned on taking in my car to let the dealer take a look at it yet just because of the same concern most of the others mentioned here.
