Here are a couple of pics. One is a pic of the round foam weather stripping placed between the steering column cover and the gauge cluster. The other is a pic of the foam backer rod in the ex large size that is made to fit gaps up to 3/4". It is made by a company called m-d and I purchased it at a home improvement store. Good luck!!
I believe they did something similar to the above, where they used some foam backing to stop the rattling, though I don't know where exactly they put it.

What exactly is rattling in that area before the fix? We're those 2 sections touching each other intermittently causing the rattle?
I was getting ticking noise somewhere in the instrument cluster area. I wasn't really sure where it was coming from. I noticed that when I pushed down on the lower part of the instrument cluster, the noise went away. That's when I tried the fix that you see and it worked!!
Re hashing this this thread because I feel like I’m getting squeaks and rattles from dash area. I’m going to try the above fix but does anyone get one from the front vent over minor bumps? Like not over major bumps but when the car vibrates a little. I also don’t want the dealer tearing apart my dash.
Under the gauge cluster on the steering column sounds to be a different spot than above the gauge cluster near the speaker ontop the dash. May be two different rattles. But still good to know!
I have the same rattle above closer to that speaker but probably some plastic by the vent. Can you let me know what your fix is?

Yes, that is the spot- above the a/c vent but below the speaker. Sadly, was never able to fix it, nor did I attempt to. Turned car back in when lease was over.
Hello All,
I've been driving a 2021 IS350 AWD for over 3 months now and there is a consistent ticking / rattling type sound coming from somewhere behind the instrument gauge/dash on driver's side. It is so subtle - you have to have all windows rolled up, no music on, no one talking in the car, and drive around 30-50 km/hr to hear it . So hard to pin point where exactly it is coming from . Could even be the speaker on the top left corner of dash. Who knows. Not really annoying at this point, but sort of gets to you given the car is new . Lexus says just to wait it out and see if it gets any worse over time . "Do you really want us to pull the dash apart to find the rattle?". No way , as this could just open up a whole host of other problems.
Anyways, just wondering if anyone else is hearing similar thing, and/or if there is really anything one can do about it .
Thanks
I have exact same issue… I had the windshield reinstalled as I thought it was from there since they had to remove it previously to re-paint the roof. It got better for 2 weeks but seems to be coming back again 🙄. Unbelievable …. Bought this car not to experience these kind of issues.
Im having the same issue with rattling noise is350 2023
Im having the same issue with rattling noise, I figured out it Is coming from the steering wheel area. I was trying to shake the steering wheel and the ticking noise appeared. I will try the foam solution as some say it is coming from the area between the steering wheel plastic cover and the gauge cluster.
thanks

Mine had this rattle too. It was from the plastic cover that covers the steering column under the gauge cluster. My fix was to put a four inch piece of half inch diameter round foam weather stripping between the steering column and gauge cluster. Noise is gone!
