However, it blocks the sun better than the one for the 330i, which is a more rigid folding design.

Honestly, I think my generic, $12 Auto Zone shades did about as good of a job. If you don't care how it looks, don't bother with the custom fit ones, would be my two cents.

If you do, then the Weather Tech one leaves no gaps and is cheaper compared to Covercraft.
Thanks for the input. I purchased one of those foldable/twisting sunshades from amazon a while back and it fits spot on in terms of width and height, but was just curious about the Covercrafts since they look really nice and seem thicker/better quality. I probably will just stick with the one I'm using from amazon since the fit is pretty well and doesn't cost as much. Thanks brotha

Hey guys. I’m torn between the Covercraft, Weathertech, and ToughGuard sun shades, which seem to be the only three available. I’m leaning more towards Covercraft but their fitment seems to be hit or miss due to it being of a harder non flexible material. I’m curious if anyone ended up getting it and could share their experience or pictures. Also, @arentz07 how is the fitment of the Weathertech, specifically around the area of the Pre Collision Camera. Do you think I’d be able to get away with having a FitCam Dash Cam? Thanks to all in advance

It fits just fine around the pre-collision camera IMO. If it's going to be mounted to the glass, I don't know if there would be any room. On the dashboard would be fine.

I took some better photos.

I bought the simplest curtains that unfold like blinds. They are made of plastic, which can emit harmful substances if used for a long time. Then I decided to drive with magnetic, did not like it. These blinds are attached with screws to the door, do not cover the window completely, and quickly fail.

Did 50% on the windshield and it helped a lot on my 2020. Only felt like it needed more on the 95+ days

Who did you get to make the shades for your car?

What’s the benefit to these? I live in Texas so am no stranger to heat and sun, my wife uses a sunshade and I do not. Her car is no cooler inside than mine when it’s in a parking lot in summer and we get in it. The factory windshield and side windows already block 99 percent of UV rays. It just seems unnecessary and a hassle to me?

And I don’t think I’ve ever seen a modern car from 2000 or later with a cracked dash.

semi related: I was shopping for a new car one summer in Texas and they had every color on the lot of what I was looking at (Acura TL) sitting outside and unlocked. Thought I’d see if the old adage “dark colors absorb more light and are hotter in the summmer” so I got in and out of a lot of them in various colors. It was impossible to tell the difference- each cars interior felt equally hot. Maybe it makes a small difference while driving and the Ac doesn’t have to work as hard.

It makes a big difference. It's most noticeable on the surfaces I touch. I've definitely noticed a difference between use of the sunshade versus forgetting to use it.

This has not been my experience with seating areas while wearing shorts, but I don’t touch the dash in each to compare the difference.

Steering wheel is hot as hell in both cars with or without sunshade in summer though.

I suppose I could borrow an IR thermometer and compare our two cars while parked outside for a while but given my body can’t tell the difference, I can’t imagine much.
