On the cars that came w/ the proximity "Dynamic Cruise Control", can you turn that off so that it won't trigger and just act like a normal cruise?

Found out my mom's 2020 Highlander won't allow this to be turned off, which I think is an awful design. Curious if the Lexus's do the same.

Thanks

When you're at both vehicles next be sure to check the Owners Manual.
Page 201 for the Lexus and page 261 for the 2020 Highlander.

Unfortunately the ability to turn of the Dynamic cruise and use Conventional Cruise is there...on both vehicles.

I don't know why "Unfortunately", but thanks! I searched online and tried it myself, but couldn't ever get it to turn off, but I admit that I never looked in the manual. I appreciate the help and will give this a try.

Why do you think it's an awful design?

I think the inability to turn it off is an awful design (which now doesn't appear to be the case)... not the DCC in itself.

The Dynamic Cruise always defaults to the longest of three (3) distance settings when you
first engage the system. If you tap the "car w/ radar waves" icon button at least once after
setting the cruise you may like the results better. All speed cruise will do stop and go traffic
down to 1 MPH! If she brings you to a stop you need to give permission to start by either
pressing the resume button or tapping the throttle pedal. (Wouldn't want to jump through an
intersection after the car in front does a "right turn on red" maneuver right?)

Blending two threads here - set the Drive Mode to Sport while enjoying stop and go cruise
to more closely mimic how you would likely respond to traffic speeds.

I relayed this information to my mom and she was able to turn it off. I appreciate the help.
