Headlight
First my car has the single beam projector. Will the double be man from the 2016 fit on my car.
Second if the double beam projector will fit my car. Will the wire connector need to be modified to work?
Thanks
Ken
If I understand your post correctly, you want to swap from the Single Projector HID headlights to the Dual Projector LED headlights.
The 2014 and 2015 IS was equipped with both headlights...depending on the region you were located in and the option package of the vehicle, that would dictate what headlight you received.
While the 2016 Dual Projector LED headlight does look the same, for the purposes of swapping out your 2014 Single Projector, it would be easier to get the LED headlights from a 2014 or 2015.
The connector for the 2014-2015 are the same for HID and LED, however the LED headlights utilize two additional wires per headlight in the connector...one wire goes to the Main Body ECU and the other is a Ground wire.
It is very likely that your vehicle harness may be prewired with these wires already...if not you will need to add the additional wires as necessary.
If you are able to locate the headlight to see it clearly, it is a gray 8 pin connector...if you see 7 wires in the connector, then the harness is prewired for the LED headlights...if you only see 5 wires, then it is not prewired for the LED headlights.
Also, there were updated LED headlights for 2014 and 2015 due to the housing cracking, so be sure you get the updated parts if you decide to get those.
Also I'm not sure if the Main Body ECU is the same between HID and LED vehicles...that's something else that would need to be confirmed.
I have a 2014 IS350 fsport. i was wondering if anyone knows if I swap or my stock single projector hid head lights for the stock Lexus double projector LED headlights would the CPU give off codes because it would be sensing a voltage regulator instead of the HID ballast?
