Default Shift ****

I was wondering how you know the fitment for a shift **** will work. I know shift ***** are universal, but how do you know if the existing shift boot clip will fit into the aftermarrket ****. I know its kind of a lame question but I want to buy a new shift **** that will fit onto my 2016 IS shift boot clip.

I have a Razo shift **** and the clip does not go into the **** itself. I know some people cut the tabs that connect into the original shift ****.

However, im not sure if cutting those clips is something I'd do myself. Personally dont mind it not fully connecting cleanly.

I've recently taken an interest in shift **** / gear selectors, and most are universal but you'll need to be sure it comes with an adapter. Size for Lexus threads i think is 8mm. Either way, they're "universal" as long as you have an adapter which most come with.

This may be common knowledge i just figured it out though since wasnt ever something I cared to look into so sharing for anyone else.

The boot fitment has been custom rigged everytime this mod comes up. I dont think anyone has got one which worked seamlessly with the existing boot. If it were me and I really wanted it to look right I would probably change the **** and boot together

I had the RAZO **** for a while, and I did cut the clips at the top of the boot. Then I bought a shift **** from Elvin on IG and ended up buying a new boot so it would clip into his shift ****. Elvin is the only one who makes aftermarket shift ***** that I've seen that look like the stock ones.
