Default Headrest Washers

Hi All,

I was cleaning my car today and found these washers on the rear back seats. At first, I didn’t know where they came from. Later when I was cleaning the headrest, I heard something was loose inside. Then boom another washer fell out. Have you guys seen these before?

What does the other side look like? I see treads in the middle.
Never seen that before though.
Which headrest was it?

These came from my front passenger headrest. My front driver headrest has “loose” noise as well.

Ok...so these are nuts with built-in washers.
The diagonal slats on the washers are they to help keep it in place so they don't come loose...I realize the irony in that as you are holding both buts.

Has there been any work done on the car recently?
Are you the first owner?

I can't imagine the headrest having those nuts in it, but then again I haven't taken a headrest apart to see.

I purchased this CPO vehicle back in 2018 and have not done any work to it recently.

Is the headrest all floppy now, or does it still start in the position it's set to? And by position I don't mean the height, I mean the rake.
You could always pull it out and flip it upside down and if you can see where they came from.
It's still very strange.

the headrest seems normal at this time, but I’ll play with it and update you if I notice something strange.
