Default 2014 to 2021 touchscreen upgrade possibilities?

So as everyone in this 3rd gen group has probably seen the 2021 Lexus IS is minimally different since its inception in 2014. So after seeing the new 2021 reveal video and pictures come out I have wanted to start this thread to discuss the possibility of upgrading older head unit screens with this new touchscreen that is coming out in this new model year. If anyone has information on how hard this might be please leave some of your thoughts about it below. I can already tell you would need to change the entire dashboard pieces and obtain the actual touchscreen itself. I want to try and compile a list of prices to possible price out how much an upgrade like this might be. From someone who bought a roadtop apple carplay conversion kit that was extremely disappointed I want this new unit in my vehicle and I am guessing everyone else would want to see how viable something like this is or might be in the future when we can get our hands on these new cars and parts from the dealership or wrecked vehicles. Just leave your thoughts on this idea below just an idea I have been thinking of.

Might as well trade in your car because you’re going to have to get nav system not just screen, if you find the parts new from dealer it will run you a few grands. And on top of it you have figure out where mounting location won’t match. Might as well get 4x4 unit or Lexion CarPlay screen.

I have to agree... BTW, I've had unit from 4x4 on my 2019 IS 300h for a few months now and I have overall great experience.

It would be nice if we could just buy the top part of the oem trim or make/buy a special mount to get the 4x4 unit looking like the 2021. I don't mean for the looks but I think having that touch screen closer to our hands would be a great plus. Maybe someone or 4x4 can make this happen. For me, my screen is just a bit too far to consider the 4x4 touchscreen.

FWIW, I rarely ever use the touch screen and find using the **** controller adequate. Can’t speak for how the experience is with a touchpad/mouse controller.
