So they sent me an update file but after taking things apart to plug in the usb I realize that i need a password for the road top unit to update. Since they are in bed there’s no way to get it.
doea anyone know the 4 digits I need to update this? I think someone else did this upgrade.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
James
Do you happen to have pdf instruction that came with your order?
Hello, I do but they did not mention this anywhere in the instructions - the code 8032 worked for me.
Can you attach the pdf please? I bought RoadTop from Amazon but still same issue with joystick they're adamant that I put the toggle switch to 2 the rest off but I think that's not correct but I don't have a way to confirm I have no instruction in the box.
As indicated, the Road Top unit keeps reverting back to the iMessage screen (even after a software update) no matter what screen I'm actually on. If I'm in music, after a minute it goes right back to iMessages - same with Maps or anything else to be honest. After it happens once, then it happens instantaneously.
I tried it with both USB and Wireless - same result
Anyone have a similar issue? The unit is useless if it keeps doing this as I cannot use any of the other functions, even Siri. Also this is the second unit they have sent me and both did the same
Do you have the **** with 4 buttons? If so they want only 5 ON
With the TOUCHPAD with 4 buttons? 1 and 5 ON
Joystick with 12.3 Screen: 2, 3, 5 ON
Joystick with CLOCK and 12.3 Screen: 2, 4, 5 ON
Joysick with 10.23 Screen: 2, 4, 5 ON
The Install guide is pretty long but those are right from the manual so I hope that helps - I don't have an electronic format, unfortunately - there is NOTHING that only has 2 as ON

None of these are mine. My screen is 7" w Nav and Joystick. yeah I checked Carlinkit instruction there's 2 ON rest off but it was for Touchpad version. I put mine back to factory but not sure worth it to troubleshoot again. If i keep taking off these trims something is going to break.
Are you guys able to answer and hang up calls through the steering wheel buttons? Cause I can't. And if anyone knows a solution to the call echo please let us all know.

I tested it out just now.. somehow answering the phone using the steering wheel during carplay hangs up the call, did you experience that as well? Answering it using the knoband selecting answer on the carplay screen works fine though.

There's nothing in the instructions for the 7" screen unfortunately - must be another Road Top model number entirely.

My steering wheel buttons don't do anything when I press them. They don't answer or hang up calls. As you mentioned selecting the buttons on the carplay screen with the joystick works.
I installed the road top unit last night on my 2017 IS with Nav. It took me about 2 hours to get done. Below are pictures for you guys to get an idea on where to mount the antenna and the empty slot for the road top unit.

That is a 4G antenna. Do we need to install that? I thought if we are running WiFi and Bluetooth with the unit then it won't be required.

I did a short troubleshoot with roadtop guys and this was what i found out: Disconnect bluetooth between phone and car, enter carplay mode, select aux and the steering wheel buttons work exactly as intended, answering, hanging up, talking and listening all works.
