Default R1 Concepts Brakes question

I just installed R1 Concepts GEOMET Drilled and Slotted rotors with their optimum OEp brake pads on my 2016 Lexus IS300 F sport. Two things I have noticed are that
  • the brakes are louder than OEM
  • when driving at high speeds this morning on the freeway on the way to work braking at high speeds caused the car to shake and vibrate an INSANE amount like not normal at all
I know they mention some kind of break in time of like 500 miles or what not but that can't possibly be because they are not broken in yet....should I go get it checked out? Any opinions would be great!!! I feel like for something of quality stuff like this shouldn't be happening

A $30 China rotor shouldn't act like that so soon. And improper break-in wouldn't show symptoms after 500 miles most likely.

Could it be the pads were not installed correctly? I'm thinking otherwise defective rotor came warped

Always go full professional big names for brakes. And don't replaced blank w/ drilled. you literally downgraded and downsized your brakes.

these are not the same as brakes from AMG, BMW, Porsche that come drilled from the factory. those brake systems are designed as a package and are oversized with the holes and slots in mind.

as for why the brakes vibrate.. who knows. could be poor machining, poor balancing, poor friction compound release characteristics. combo of all the above. at this point it doesn't matter.

what'd i'd recommend *Pro E46CT tip* is Meyle rotors. they're best bang for the buck. I got them on eBay at a fraction of the cost of OE/OEM. they performed like glass.

there may be other options since i got rid of my 3IS so check rockauto.

Vibration from high speed braking usually means out of round rotors...fancy way of saying they are warped.
If the vibration is felt through the steering wheel when braking at high speed, it's the front rotors.
If the vibration is felt through the seat (basically your butt) when braking at high speed, it's the rear rotors.
Not sure if you replaced fronts or all.

Believe me you will know if you have warped rotors lol. It’s usually the fronts because your steering wheel will vibrate when you brake hard.

I just meant on the rears. He mentioned different symptoms on the rear, with only the seat vibration.

Been through all thr brake issues on the fronts though.

Oh, yeah I’ve never experienced rear rotor warping either I don’t think. I’ve never felt my seat vibrating at least so maybe I did at some point but never even noticed.

It's not too often rear rotors warp, so it's not really a concern.
But depending on what the OP installed, he could have installed rotors that were already warped out the box...I'm not sure if he did front or all four. I would guess it was front only.
