Default Extended lugs with spacers

So I’m sure there is another thread with this question but I can’t seem to find one. I just bought my 2014 is350 f sport a few weeks ago and I’m about to order 20mm spacers all around for it. I know extended lugs are probably smarter to go with, but are the necessary on these cars? I was running 20mm on my last car which was also a 2014 (not Lexus) but the stock lugs were long enough for the spacer so I’m just curious if the stock lugs on these are long enough for 20mm?

Welcome to the forum!

The stock studs are not long enough for 20mm spacers. They are probably long enough for 5mm spacers.
If you're ordering a 20mm spacer just get the ones that bolt on and have the studs already installed in them for you to bolt the wheel on.
I wouldn't recommend running 20mm spacers on just longer studs.

I have to agree here, I ran 5mm on my fronts for quite sometime with no issues. After an accident I had to replace my front wheels and the wheel cast had changed causing them to not clear my calipers. I bought 7mm for the clearance and they’re too thick without extending the studs. You could only get 3 turns before torque.

3 turns definitely isn't enough for safety...what i did when i wanted to run this kind of Wheel spacer but didn't want to add a thick spacer 10mm+ was to replace the Wheels Studs from Dorman

this is a very in-depth process and a lot of info has to be spot on...i.e. for a 2014 Lexus IS350, these are the Wheel Stud specs:

98485.1

M12-1.50 Serrated Wheel Stud - 14.20mm Knurl, 40mm Length

Application Summary: General Motors 2010-85, Toyota 2020-73

Application Notes:
Front
Rear

Application Attributes:
Package Quantity: 1
Thread Size: M12-1.50
Packaging Type: Bag
Thread Length (In): 31.877 mm
Thread Handling: Right Hand Thread

easiest way is to see if local Auto Parts store has a few longer in length in stock

what i went with this time is a 20mm Wheel spacer like this which wouldn't require getting extended lug nuts:

which ever one you choose, NEVER get Universal Wheel Spacers like these:

shops like Discount Tire won't even touch this style of Wheel Spacer because they can shift and is a real safety hazard
