When I did it, I managed to get that white piece off without breaking anything and it helped me see inside the piece better, I actually forgot about the inside of that part because it didnt give me too much trouble, there is probably some more clips, just be very careful and make sure if it comes apart to put it back the same way you saw it

oh okay so that white part is a whole piece connected to the button itself?

I did this such a long time ago, I'm not sure, I just remember the white piece came off and then everything made sense and I was able to put it all back together, was super upset about one of three clips breaking and I pushed it back into the plastic dashboard, it was to the right and I had to take it out again and center it! Good luck bro!
