Unhappy Scratched

Hey all,

I was wondering if there was anybody that can tell me as to how to fix up a curb rash on the plastic rear on my IS300. It looks minor but I just want to get rid of it. Do I still need plastic filling or can I just file it away with sandpaper and paint it over? I actually tried the toothpaste method but it didn't do anything unfortunately. I'm just worried that if I file the scratch the plastic's mold will change; will it?

Luckily this piece is easily replaceable!

Unfortunately, there is no good fix for this.

You can't fix it and make it look good. There is no filler that will color match it and if you try to paint it, you'll need to paint the whole piece.

I damaged my diffuser some time ago, just replaced it because there's no going back after scratching textured plastic.

You have to drop the entire bumper cover to replace the diffuser.
