This seems like pretty much the same thing as the RR-Racing tune (well the hardware is, they are both a My Genius OBD unit). I personally don't know much about VRTuned as a company, they may be great, but what I can tell you is RR racing has been fine tuning our cars for a very long time, their tunes are amazing, they have a stellar reputation and fantastic customer service. Not to mention their price is $50 cheaper (edit: actually, once you select the options and choose the same features the RR racing tune gives you, the VR unit is $900, the RR racing is $550). I would go with RR racing personally (and I did).

Theres a lot of opinions on this. Generally rr racing is the go to ecu tune. VrTuned is an odb2 port plug in tune that to be perfectly honest, in my opinion, is a joke. They claim after you tune you need to drive around a bunch of miles before it starts to work and you lose the tune and need to re do after X amount of miles again. It’s incredibly overpriced to. If they sold it for a couple hundred bucks I think a lot would try it but I swear last time I checked it was something it was like 600$ USD.... if your going to tune your ecu go with RR.

I have it installed and it was well worth it to me, likely the best performance to price ratio mod that can be done to our cars. It made the car far more throttle responsive and aggressive under high throttle/rpms., but also on the opposite end I have seen slight fuel mileage improvement when driving casually in eco mode. Of all the mods I've done to my car so far, to me, this was one of the best ones. I absolutely love it. You can read more details about what the tune does on the product page I linked above.

Yes, it would still work in automatic.

I suggest giving the paddle shifters a try, specifically in the M shift mode. It's really not difficult, and can be fun when you are driving more aggressively.
