Wow, last time I went into the dealership, I think they wanted $180 for a new battery.

Why would you buy a battery from the dealer? Just buy the best aftermarket battery you can get in the same size and power rating. Lexus / Toyota do not actually make their own batteries, they buy them from a battery manufacturer.

My advice: If you are a costco or Sams member, get it there. They have a great warranty.

I was going to buy a battery from local auto parts but negative terminal is corroded I couldn’t even remove the cable from battery. Dealer charged me $200 for replacement battery. It’s about the same price as aftermarket ones.

Panasonic also manufacturer's BMW's batteries. I think the Panasonics are just re-branded Johnson Controls or Exides. There's only like two or three major battery suppliers in the world and everyone puts their sticker on it.

So just get one at walmart or autozone and call it a day. you don't need a dealer battery. ac delco, johnson controls, exice, panasonic, goldstar (autozone) it's all the same

The one from dealer comes with 84-month warranty I think I should be good for next 7 years.

Lexus batteries are quite expensive.. Even 3rd party ones run 300-500 bucks. Dealer selling you one for 140 bucks sounds fishy as f-ck... Might not be a correct battery for you.

There’s nothing special about Lexus batteries, they are just normal lead acid batteries same as in Toyotas. Dealer batteries made in the US should not cost more than $150. Anything more is a ripoff. Dealer batteries made in Japan are the same thing with $500 premium in shipping and taxes.

Yes but also, no. Might be the same situation as with a ****ty aftermarket fuel/water pump vs oem one. On the surface both look similar but one costs 2-3 times more. Of course, the ****ty one will have a higher chance of failing earlier, and thus making you pay twice for the same part + cost of installing it (minimal for battery, tho).

What country do you live in? My dealer only warranties my battery for two years. The Lexus dealer battery sucks. I had mine replaced due to the battery drain issue and the replacement one barely lasted over two years, just enough for them to not replace it for me again. Get one at Costco, those have never failed me

I’m in U.S. My previous battery lasted 4 years also from Lexus dealer and I just got a new one from same dealer it comes with 84-month warranty so I didn’t hesitate.
