Repaint Spoiler
Hi folks,
is there anyone has a white body IS with a black OEM spoiler? I'm thinking about repainting my white spoiler black. I don't know how it would look like.
Or if you have any experience doing repainting, are there some tips I can take? Thank you in advance!!!

All the work is in the prepping. If you want it to look like a pro did it, its gonna be pretty labor intensive. But really, whatever prep you do, youll probably need to invest in a respirator to protect your valuable lungs. Safety first. 2K clear coat is a dangerous substance. Im currently sanding and repainting my front lip and its a bit of work. Been breaking it up into days to make it more feasible.
But steps Im taking:
Sand with 80 grit (helps to use a sanding block) --> sand with 150 --> sand with 240 (Step up the grit, by doubling)
Clean with wax and grease remover to remove and left over dust, lint etc
Apply primer - 3 coats - let dry over night
Spray with guide coat - then wet sand with 400 grit --> 800 grit wet sand
Clean with wax and grease remover
Dry with clean rag
Clean with tack rag to remove any dust or lint
Apply Base Coat - 3 coats - 10 minutes between each coat - spray like you're applying a mist, be quick and intentional with your movements
Wait 15 minutes
Apply 2k Clear Coat - 3 coats - 10 minutes between coats. - 1st coat is quicker in movement, - 2nd coat is slower.
Let dry over night
Im no expert, so take this for what its worth. If anyone knows better, listen to them, but this is how im doing my lip.
