Front Plate Bracket Removal
Hey all. Just purchased a 2015 IS 350 AWD base. I love this car. Coming from BMW, I just love the simplicity of the design and function. I love the reliability as well — I owned a 2000 ES300 back in the day.
I live in a state that does not reuire a front plate. I was removing the bracket and found holes screwed in the bumper. What are my options? I’m leaving the bracket on for now to cover the ugly holes, but I want to fix this ASAP. Attached is a photo.

Yeah I don't like it either, I also have a non F-Sport. Curious to see if anyone has a idea I haven't thought of.
Most effective method....new lower portion of the grille. They're over $105-130 if you buy new on eBay.
eBay link
I've used some auto body retainers as plugs. Little plastic plug/clips universal style from auto parts store. I may have pics somewhere.
The raw plastic of those plugs does match decently well but they still stand out. This may be sufficient.
I wasn't really happy with it, my other car worked better because I actually painted/clear the plugs to color match bumper and looks more OEM.
My other thought lately to also improve the look of the front end is to fill the holes with a Bondo or other. Then, smooth and resurface that entire portion of the grille. Either by vinyl, or spray. Never seen it but I'm pretty sold on this so I may be the 1st one. My plastic is already looking a little...plasticy.
I think the front end of this car looks alright but kind of feel we got cheaped out on with that raw plastic look on the entire lower portion of the grille and too much of it for Fog housing.
