Default 2018 Service Campaign

For those of you that have the 2018 IS (or other 2018 Lexus models), I received a service campaign email message as part of my monthly vehicle health report about an update needed to the ECU for monitoring the rear O2 sensors. According to the description, the current software may not detect a malfunctioning sensor due to an error in the software and because of this, affected vehicles do not meet certain OBD regulations. This may affect a vehicle's ability to successfully pass emission inspections if your state requires it to renew your registration yearly.

There is a remedy update fix available and the message says that any authorized Lexus dealer will update the ECU free of charge. No service campaign expiration date provided.

Just wanted to let folks know in case you haven't received this recent communication from Lexus - the message was dated 3/14/19.
