Default mismatch tire size?

Just bought an IS AWD used with 18" rims and noticed the tires were 225/40/18 front and 245/40/18 rear. I'm not too worried about the 245 width, i know it should be 255 but would i be running into any issues with those aspect ratios? the sidewalls work out to 90 front and 98 rear which is about a 10% variance.

I believe the variance should be no more than 2-3%. I could be wrong though.

I would recommend getting 255s. Your rear tire is 1/2" smaller in diameter. Also I would not have a tire less than the factory width because it will reduce traction and braking capability.

if you really want to do the math about it, you can use this site:

https://www.willtheyfit.com/

plugin the wheel and current tire information, and then plug in values for the tire size you're curious about
