You can even try Canadian Tire...they are always having sales on those handheld ones.
Basically you just need something to retrieve the code...and ultimately clear it, which all of them will do.
You can spend as little as $23, all the way up to hundreds of dollars:

Based on the info on Amazon, the KKmoon cable will work with the Techstream software, but doesn't come with the Techstream software.Originally Posted by AtomicAWD
Thanks, although doesn't the KKmoon one come with Techstream as well?
I have a Mongoose cable that works with the Techstream software, and looks identical to the KKmoon one.
The disc is just the drivers for the cable.

So you can get that cable and techstream for not much $, supposedly. I havnt looked into but looks like good feedback / reviews on ebay. That obviously would be good to look into.Originally Posted by AtomicAWD
Aaaand, it has returned. Would one of these get the codes read? Should probably get one eventually anyway.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00W97K7O6...I2X9VLPBBNJOGA
However, I was really drawn to OBD Fusion app available on your phone. Just need a wireless OBDII scanner and you get live readings on a ton of stuff. OBD Links is suggested, about $55 I think. My cheapo amazon black Friday deal scanner works but is not reliable for continuous use. .
Check out the app
