The solution is in good tires & a perfect alignment plus ground balancing not the normal balancing not in the dealership... learned the hard way since 2nd gen IS.

Hey all! Here is the alignment specs I just received from the Lexus dealership. I have no idea how to read it.

Also I had a friend drive my car last night and he definitely noticed it pulling left and right. I needed conformation so everyone doesn't think I'm crazy. ha It apparently does not veer left and right when Ive dropped it off at Lexus.

My car does not have lane assist and seems way more intense to be just a tire issue. Whatever the issue is I cannot wait until it is pinpointed and resolved.

I barely figured out how to load this picture of the alignment(I'm technically challenged sometimes ha) but I do have a video I would like to share. I will have to figure out how to load a video on here if that's even possible.

Don't worry about reading it...cause half the numbers are missing due to it being photocopied or scanned...or whatever was done to it.
It looks like the left front Caster is out of spec...which is odd. Possibly the right front too, but really hard to tell without a number or clear indication by the arrow.
The front and right rear Toe were out to lunch before...which they did bring back into spec.

The left front caster is a little concerning. They probably said it wasn't adjustable or they probably didn't mention it at all.
The lower control arm bushing on the left front would need to be changed to the correct offset one in order to correct the Caster.

Any chance you can read the numbers and tell us what they are? Or is that how they sent it to you? (which is pretty pathetic)

I can probably only see all the numbers that you can see.

Any chance they can send you a readable version?

At this point the caster is an issue, and a significant difference in caster can cause the vehicle to pull to a particular side...the side that has less caster.
In this case, to the right. However that would not explain it pulling left.

Given how much Toe adjustment was made to the vehicle overall, the steering would need to be calibrated...if it wasn't.

Change all 4 new tires and do Alignment again, your rear is good but the front is bad , Front Camber and Caster is way off inward but thats not really the cause, Tires are , pump the air to +37 all around, take it to another Alignment shop. My IS350 pull left/right when i was test driving , i noticed 2 different brands tires right away, front were BridgeStone rear were Michellin they were bad.
Save your time with the Electric power steering system whatever for now because it will be a ton of headache. In modern car electric anything related to ECU you should get an Indicate warning light on your dash. they call it EPS etc.

Solaro thanks for the info.

Since the back tires were brand new when I purchased the preowned car last month you think I should buy all four tires will fix the problem? Not sure I'm ready to spend $1000 for four new tires especially if it doesn't solve the problem.

My car makes a popping noise sometimes when making a U-turn also. I have video but not sure if it is possible to load it on here for y'all to see it. Also I just noticed it seems to drive worse in the rain.

The reality is tires are always a possibility.
Unless the tires have an obvious defect, it's hard to drop $1K on a "maybe this might fix it".

To rule out all the other possibilities first is fairly inexpensive...so it would be reasonable to check those first.

If the rear tires are new, then a more reasonable approach would be to replace the front to match the brand.

I made an appointment to take my car back to Lexus. This will be my third visit in a few weeks. This time i am going to show them the issue when i turn the steering wheel all the way(or sometimes not even all the way) left or right the wheel locks and will stay left or right instead of returning back to center. Sometimes the steering wherl will twitch a little and make quiet knocking sound.

Those new symptoms you mentioned now don't sound normal at all.
If the EPS system has not thrown a code yet, then it's something physical causing your issues.
If there was an issue with one or both front upper strut mounts, this could cause a scenario where the steering doesn't return to center after a turn.

I attached a couple videos. Not sure if they will load. Please let me know.
After showing the lead technician these videos and did a quick ride along they gave me another loaner car. Technical doesnt say much but says its normal for my car to do the odd things in the video i posted. I totally disagree and cannot think all lexus vehicles do this.

I don't see a video. Maybe make an unlisted YouTube video and link it here?

Great idea!

This is apparently normal per the mechanic at Lexus. Both of these short clips are not dangerous or unsafe compared to the REAL issue i have while driving 35mph -75mph and the car and steering wheel goes left or right randomly. Not all the time but occasionally.

in the rain it slides. Even when pavement is dry it has scooted when turning into a parking spot.

Ok...there is no way the knocking is normal.
In your original post you stated you had Downs installed...is that with the factory rims?
I know my 20's hit the fender liner at full lock on the Downs, but it's a consistent scrape noise...definitely not a knocking noise.

The first one where the steering rocks on it's own is also not normal.

I would definitely do a steering calibration in an attempt to correct the first issue.
The second issue needs a visual inspection as to where the noise is coming from. It would hard to simulate the condition and look for the noise at the same time though...I'd have to give the dealer a little leeway on that one.

Downs installed? I dont know what that is.
Everything is factor on it. No mods.

I hope Lexus calls me back to give me some news soon but they may keep my car until tomorrow.

I should have driven one of their preowned F Sports and see if it was anything like mine. I seriously doubt it.
