Gotcha. Don’t cut your wiring harness up for remote start. Lexus has an option it’s the reliable one. Those 80 dollar kits are as you said. Poo. Before everything was networked together in a car they worked fine. Now, good luck and god speed. These cars freak out about the wrong bulbs being plugged in. Adding something like that is asking for trouble.

Confirmed this yesterday after speaking with Lexus. I was tapping lock 3 times but not holding on the 3rd time. Ugh. A couple of notes:

In any case, this is how I have managed to make it work. Press the lock button 3 times quickly, then press it a 4th time and hold. Don't release the lock button until you see the indicators flashing (which should take about 2 seconds), and then the car will start up.

On my Acura TL aftermarket starter, the shut off was tied to the brake, so you had to turn the key forward before you depressed the brake. It worked brilliantly. How can that work so brilliant in 2007 but this one not have that feature in 2018? Makes no sense.
