Gotcha. Don’t cut your wiring harness up for remote start. Lexus has an option it’s the reliable one. Those 80 dollar kits are as you said. Poo. Before everything was networked together in a car they worked fine. Now, good luck and god speed. These cars freak out about the wrong bulbs being plugged in. Adding something like that is asking for trouble.
If I enroll in the Enform app, does it only work if using the app or does it allow for me to use my fob to start the car?

Perhaps there's something I don't know? How do you do it? I've read that pressing lock 3 times does it, but that doesn't work for me. I also couldn't find anything on it in the owner's manual.
fob becomes activated as well as app, tap lock 3 times and hold it on 3rd and it starts
Confirmed this yesterday after speaking with Lexus. I was tapping lock 3 times but not holding on the 3rd time. Ugh. A couple of notes:
* If you cancel your Enform subscription, your fob will stop working for remote start too. Kinda bull**** in my opinion.
* If you open your door, your engine stops. This is also true if you remote start from the app. Kind of silly.

There are multiple threads about the remote start from Lexus being trash. We have all complained about the fact that the engine stops when you open the door which is dumb AF.

Chris
I couldn't either, but I remember seeing how to do it here on CL somewhere.
In any case, this is how I have managed to make it work. Press the lock button 3 times quickly, then press it a 4th time and hold. Don't release the lock button until you see the indicators flashing (which should take about 2 seconds), and then the car will start up.

I don't have any problems with Enform, seems to work perfectly. However, I HATE the fact that the car shuts off when the door is opened. On my Acura TL aftermarket starter, the shut off was tied to the brake, so you had to turn the key forward before you depressed the brake. It worked brilliantly. How can that work so brilliant in 2007 but this one not have that feature in 2018? Makes no sense.

I love Enform and the ability to check my vehicle location, gas, status, etc, but the remote start is garbage IMO.

My Chevy Silverado worked the exact same way, and that's what I expected here. Weird that Toyota/Lexus takes this approach.
