I hope not. I’m interested because I’m considering a tuned IS200t as an alternative to an ISF for a DD

I doubt they gave up. I think they just don’t have anything new to report so they don’t want to reply.

I don't think a tuned IS200t would ever be an alternative to an ISF. I'm hoping to make my IS200t as brisk as my previous car, a stock MK7 Golf GTI, which should be achievable with a re-flash. Honestly if they just eliminate the throttle delay that's tuned into the stock ECU programming I would be happy with that. This car does not have the low-end torque punch of a traditional turbo engine because of the programmed throttle lag, and I think eliminating that alone will wake the car up. My GTI had a torque surge at about 1800rpms when the turbo spooled and the Lexus lags till about 4k rpms because of the stupid throttle delay.

A tuned IS200t isn't even an alternative to a stock IS350 or even stock 328i LOL. alternative to IS-F.. what.

Yeah the only way this car gets even close to 300 to the wheels is with an upgraded turbo. I think Lexus challenged themselves and said “how small of a turbo can we make?” And they did a great job lol.

More like how do we create a turbo 4 to stay relevant in the segment but at the same time not step on the toes of the IS350. Cause a decent turbo 4 would strip the lug nuts off an IS350.

You guys are funny but it's the truth, Toyota never fails at mediocrity, never disappoint in that regard. They did make adjustments to the 2019 ECU's they claim to improve the throttle response. A fellow here mentioned he replaced his old one for a new one and said the 2019 felt like a totally different car. I need to test drive one to see if it's noticeable.

That’s disappointing then. I know it seems like an odd comparison shopping between the two, but I do a lot of driving for work and had a Focus ST at one point so I thought a tuned IS200t might be a good compromise for some nice torque like the Focus ST would get with a tune but in a nicer car and not have to put a lot of miles on an ISF.

I bought the 4 cyl turbo because I wanted a reliable semi sporty and semi luxurious car. I didn’t need the V6. My next car however will most likely be something with a V8 or sometype of 6 configuration with twin turbos. My G37S was a lot of fun to drive especially because it was a V6 NA. Maybe in the future there will be more turbo support for this car though.
