LED RGB footwell lights 2014 IS 250
Does anyone know how to install LED RGB footwell lights on a 2014 IS 250? I want to hardwire it to the car instead of using the cig lighter.

you would need to use a multimeter and identify a switched 12V source. there should be a nearby where where the illuminated door sills would tap into.

I watched a video on how to install an illuminated door sill and the way he tapped into it was by using the footwell lights which only turn on when the door opens. I would want my RGB to be on while driving. If there is a way to do this please let me know. Thanks for the response!

I did this a couple months ago using the OPT 7 LED kit and it came with fuse taps that you could use for the fuse box. I'll take some pictures later today when I get back to my car.

Here are the pictures. I ran my wires through the center console (is that what you call it?) for a cleaner install. I'm not particularly sure which fuse I used, but it was an open fuse slot that I first used when I hardwired my dash cam and it was one that would always power whatever you plugged in. The kit I used came with different fuse sizes and a splitter so I was able to use that one fuse for both devices.
I used to unplug the power cable from the box that controlled the LEDs every time I would leave the car for the night, but I haven't been doing so for the past month and my car starts up without a problem.
I used the OPT7 Aura interior LED kit which you can find here: http://www.amazon.com/OPT7-Smart-Col...70_&dpSrc=srch
and this is the manual here: https://support.opt-7.com/398366-OPT...llation-Manual
